California lawyer David Siegel, who last year was named as a “Best Lawyer in America” by his peers, has joined the board of Denver-based MDC Holdings Inc., parent of Richmond American Homes.
Siege’s appointment as a Class II director increases the size of the board to eight from seven. His term expires on 2011, according to a SEC document released today by MDC. The board determined that Siegel is” independent” under the rules of the New York Stock Exchange. Also, the board considers Siegel “financially literate” as provided by NYSE rules. With Siegel’s addition, the board has six independent members.
