Michelle Brokaw honored by CREW.

Michelle Brokaw, CEO of Denver-based Fleisher Smyth Brokaw has received  the 2009 CREW Woman of Vision award.

The award was given at the Commercial Real Estate Women’s, (CREW’s) 10th annaul Women of Inluence Award Luncheon,  held on Tuesday at the Ritz-Cartlon Hotel in downtown Denver.

“This honor is awarded to the woman who has stepped out and created her own way in a segment of the industry long reserved for our male counterparts,” according to CREW. (Brokaw) has created a path and defined success on her own terms, while inspiring others to seek their dreams.” W

CREW Denver is associated with CREW Network, an association of 70 commercial real estate women’s groups representing more than 8,000 members across the US and Canada.

CREW strives to increase the power and influence of women in commercial real estate, and to give CREW members opportunities and resources to be the most successful

professionals possible within the commercial real estate industry.

“I am extremely honored and humbled to receive this award, which has been previously been given to such true women pioneers in our business,” Brokaw said. “I would not be here without the strong team of men and women that I work with every day.”

Brokaw, 42 and an 18 year veteran of Denver’s commercial real estate community, was one of 20 nominees who were evaluated on the following criteria:

• Accomplished in her own right, is and will be making significant contributions to Colorado commercial real estate over the next chapter of CREW Denver’s history

• Demonstrates extraordinary commitment to an enhanced economic, cultural,

social and/or physical environment through commercial real estate project(s) in

the Denver metropolitan area

• Exemplifies vision and influence in the commercial real estate industry

• An individual who’s positive outlook and enthusiasm paves the way for others’

success

• A problem solver, one who overcomes challenges or turns challenges into opportunity

• Is on the cusp of raising the bar to an even higher level

• A risk taker who is ahead of her time
