Officials from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Regional Office and The Longmont Housing Authority at 10 a.m. on Wednesday will join the residents of the Lodge at Hover Crossing in Longmont to celebrate 50 years of a HUD program that provides “affordable, safe, supportive housing for senior citizens.”
The program that serves the center at 2127 18th Ave. in Longmont, is known as the HUD Section 202 program.
HUD Multifamily Director Marcie LaPorte and Longmont Housing Authority Executive Director Michael Reis will host a reception for the residents in the Longmont center at 2127 18th Ave.
LaPorte will describe the benefits of this federally funded housing program, and will present a Certificate of Appreciation to The Lodge at Hover Crossing for participating in this nationally competitive program. Residents discussing how they benefit from this program that both promotes and supports independent living and self-sufficiency.
