Denver zoning code meetings on tap

Staff from Denver Community Planning and Development on Wednesday and Thursday of this week will answer questions on the third round of Denver’s proposed new zoning code, the largest overhaul of the code in memory.

The meeting will be held in the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building, 201 W. Colfax Ave.

The Wednesday meeting will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in room 4.I.4. The Thursday meeting will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in room 1.D.1.

• These sessions follow the  heavily attended November and December office hours and the November City Council/Planning Board Listening Sessions, at which nearly 500 citizens asked questions and shared opinions on the New Code. This input is being used to inform the final version of the new code that will be sent to City Council early this year.

Jan. 18– Posting of fourth and final draft of the new code on the Internet at this link.

Feb. 17 — Planning Board public hearing, after which the Board will forward a recommendation to City Council

March  10 — Blueprint Denver Committee of Denver City Council considers new code and whether to approve filing a bill for adoption by the full City Council

March 16 — Mayor and Council review and discuss Blueprint Denver recommendation

March  18 — Community Planning and Development files a bill for an ordinance adopting the new code to be considered by City Council

March 22 — City Council – first reading of new code ordinance proposal.
