Eric NesbittEric Nesbitt, an 18-year real estate industry veteran and commercial real estate lawyer,  has been named “Broker of the Year” by the Denver Metropolitan Commercial Association of Realtors annual “Heavy Hitters” award. The awards also honor top producers in land, industrila, multi-family office, investment, retail and small office categories.Nesbitt, 44, heads the Nesbitt Group and runs the law office of Eric L. Nesbeitt, P.C.  

“Eric has demonstrated a clear understanding of the issues and challenges of our industry and has always demonstrated an ability to clearly listen to and act upon the needs of our the members,” said DMCAR CEO, Barbara Lambert.  “His ability to negotiate from a legal perspective and build group consensus have been and will continue to be invaluable to the work of our Association.”

Other winners

Top Investment Brokers – Mary Sullivan and Tim Swan, CB Richard Ellis – with one of the largest commercial real estate transactions in the country in 2009, the sale of Seventeenth Street Plaza, the team completed 2009 with 2 deals totaling $152.8 million in production

Top Industrial Broker – Jim Bolt, CB Richard Ellis – he completed 71 transactions totaling $113.7 million in personal production on his way to earning his 13th Heavy Hitter title in the past 16 years

Top Land Broker – Martin Roth, CB Richard Ellis  – a 9-year veteran of the industry, Roth completed five transactions in 2009 totaling $18.2 million in production including a major land transaction at the former site of The Children’s Hospital in Denver.

Top Multi-Family Brokers – Pat Stucker, Cushman & Wakefield – a 32-year commercial real estate industry veteran, Stucker had personal production of $87.1 million in 2009 and has completed more than $2 billion in real estate transactions throughout his career.

Top Office Broker – Duncan Heitman, Jones Lang LaSalle – a 15-year veteran of commercial real estate, he completed 66 deals in 2009 totaling just shy of $54 million in production.

Top Retail Broker – Jon Weisiger, CB Richard Ellis – a 22-year industry professional, he completed 78 deals totaling $22.9 million in pesonal production.

Top Small Office Broker – Matthew Smith, Vector Property Services – a 26-year industry veteran, he completed 24 deals in 2009 totaling $7.3 million in personal production.

Also recognized for his early career success and professional commitment was Sam Slaton, DMCAR’s 2009 Young Broker of Denver.  The CB Richard Ellis broker, in his second year of commercial real estate, completed 19 transactions totaling $4.2 million in personal production in 2009.He was selected from a group of young professionals with less than three years of industry experience.
