The story aired on Saturday.

I told Shawn that sales in the Denver-area surged in the fall when first-time buyers thought the $8,000 tax credit might disappear. When Congress and President ObaImma  extended the tax credits in early November, the sense of urgency disappeared, and sales activity in December – typically a slow month for home sales – saw home buying activity drop more than normal.

I predicted that this spring will be brisker than normal as buyers on the fence take advantage of the credits, before they expire at the end of April. While some people in the industry think that Congress may extend the credits for all of 2010, there is no guarantee that will happen.

One person writing on the Channel 9 Web site, said that he thinks the home-buying bargains will be after the tax credits expire. He described himself as a contrarian.
