The Denver Post today ran an article today about Xcel Energy’s proposal to increase fees with solar energy panels.

New Town Builders, one of the Denver-area’s leading homebuilders in sustainability, opposes the Xcel proposal.

“The Xcel proposal to increase fees for homes with solar energy conflicts directly with every governmental initiative in pursuit of sustainability and energy efficiency, on all levels, from local to federal,” said Gene Myers, CEO of New Town Builders. “If approved, Xcel’s proposal will only delay solar power’s arrival as a mainstream source of energy.
